Energy savings
Since electric motors account for nearly 70% of the electricity used by industry, motorised applications constitute an important source of potential savings.

With the benefit of its experience in improving the efficiency of electric motors, geared motors and variable speed, Leroy-Somer has costed the potential energy savings.

The result is striking: improving the efficiency of fixed-speed motors can achieve 10% of the overall energy-saving potential whereas with variable speed, more than 30% of the total potential can be achieved!!! The remaining 60% potential savings are rarely considered.

Permanent magnet synchronous motor
IP55 construction in accordance with IEC, very high-efficiency magnet synchronous motors cover a power range from 0.75 to 400 kW over a speed range of up to 5500 min^-1

Induction motors
Over a speed range from 0.09 kW to 900 kW, the range of IP65/IP55 enclosed or IP23 protected induction motors satisfy the demands of industrial processes for standard or special environments.

D.C. motors
From 0.18 to 750 kW, D.C. motors, whether drip-proof or enclosed, are used in applications requiring variable speed operation and deliver constant torque at low or high speed.

Brake induction motors
